Teen Art Workshop
There is a personal pleasure and contentment from expressing nature through journaling. It is a skillset that costs little but enhances the creative endeavour in so many aspects of life and living.
The focus of this workshop is to facilitate young teens in sketching outdoors, exploring ideas with perspective, drawing and colour. Ultimately it is a demonstration of how drawing skills developed in the sketchbook provides for a better painting and the activity of sketching in a notebook builds a creative process and practice.
The workshop will cater for ages 12 to 16. No competency required except a willingness to learn. Tutored event. All equipment will be supplied.
Venue
To run in conjunction with the plein air painting event in the Twin Trees Festival at Ballinakill, Co Laois. 22nd 23rd and 24th August.
Day One: Heywood Gardens, Ballinakill, Co. Laois.
Day Two: Masslough Lake, Ballinakill, Co. Laois
Day Three: Ballinakill Village, Co. Laois.
Workshop Duration
Duration is three hours each day for three days. 10 am to 1 pm.
Fee of €60 includes:
- 3 days drawing tutorials
- Sketchbook making
- Process tutorial
- All materials provided
Day 3: Painting outdoors for beginners using sketchbook, surface preparation and materials from previous days’ drawings.
